I Became the Lisan Al Gaib

*My New Youtube Film Drops Today

Hey guys,

It’s been a while, I know. Lots has changed; no frequent uploads or emails. But the creativity never dies!

Over the last few months, I’ve been storyboarding a big project, one that finally releases today (3pm UK time).

There are few things in life that beat immersing myself in a passion project, where time only becomes relevant when I'm interrupted, and making the vision in my head recognisable becomes the north star.

'To bring something to life', as they say.

For me, one example is making videos to share on YouTube. No pressure. No obligation. No necessity. Just love for the creative process. The capture of unfamiliar moments. A journey with friends. A moment in time with family. Then laying it all out in front of myself, cutting, exchanging, trimming, deleting, experimenting.

Wrangling with a story until it feels right, by thinking about what would feel wrong. Until it does justice to the experience. Cherishes it. Solidifies it. Adds to it, without reducing from it. Extracting the story in layers and themes, refining it, then reintroducing it as something to be presented to the world.

What was once familiar becomes a gift for everyone involved. A selfless act of sharing what would otherwise be tucked away. An invitation to those who care, to connect, to see as we see, and feel what ought to be felt, in whatever way they're inclined to.

This film is no different. Two years in the making. An experience that was meant for a bigger screen than your iPhone, one that ignores dopamine spikes and focuses on slower, more meaningful themes. And for the first time, I felt it possible to weave in humour in a way that felt natural and true to the story at hand.

I hope you enjoy it. And perhaps, it might inspire you to share something of your own. I hope you do.

Thanks for sticking around. ✌️

Faisal 🙂
