I Quit Social Media for Just 1 Week

Earlier this month, I deleted all social media for just a week.

I wasnā€™t expecting to reconnect with nature or become a hippy, I just wanted to see the withdrawal effects of someone who hadnā€™t been off social media for 8 years.

The experiment was simple: I wasnā€™t allowed to use social media under any circumstances for 7 days.

Some of the things I noticed throughout the week:

  1. Multiple empty moments of silence throughout the day.

  2. When social media use stops, almost all screentime stops.

  3. No phone makes you crave social interaction, so you make an extra effort in person.

  4. Cutting off social media is like closing the portal that allows the worldā€™s noise into your life.

I made a video the other day about the whole experience, I hope you gain some value from it:

If you want to know WHY I decided to do this detox, hereā€™s the previous video outlining the reasons:

I share my videos here to avoid the ā€˜algorithmā€™ games on Youtube.

Thanks to all of you who give me weekly feedback and kind messages to spur me on, it means more than you know.
